Description

Purpose of the position

Business Analysis - To facilitate, coordinate and document detailed business requirements regarding the business change agenda (project or work package).
To work directly with the relevant development team or cross functionally as appropriate to articulate and ascertain the feasibility of the business change and mediate cross functionally regarding potential solutions.
To aide in the development of new solutions to meet business change requirements.
To assist internal customers in the management and development of their business processes to create efficiency and value. 

Report writing:

This will incorporate writing the business terms of reference, writing the business requirements documentation – in readiness for the developers to commence coding, Project highlight reporting, test script etc.

Testing: To write the system test scripts, facilitate and coordinate cross functional system tests, documenting results and system handover to the dot net support team.

Working with the Service Delivery team regarding service transition.

To support the Project Manager in both the maintenance and support of existing systems to meet (or exceed) Service Level Agreements (SLAs)Key Accountabilities.

Below is a list of activities for which the Business Analyst is responsible for performing within a given systems or business area.
Project or Work Package:

  • Act as Representative and first point of contact within the given business area(s), if applicable.
  • Work with business users to identify solutions for business problems or opportunitiesDevelopment and the delivery of business change requirement documentation (TOR, Business Requirements, project life cycle documentation, test scripts & user guides etc.)
  • Ensure any commercial commitments resulting from the delivery of a project are reviewed by the legal team and authorised before commencing work, e.g. contracts, SLAs, license and support agreements
  • May supervise and/or lead lower graded staff, contractors and/or student employees.

Day to Day
Accountable for the performance of activities related to the support of existing systems.
Ensure an Account Management relationship is developed within the given business area of responsibility, if applicable.
Ensure strict processes and procedures are in place for the processing and control of purchase orders and invoices
Provide regular Project / work package / Account management information updates within agree deadlines incorporating project life cycle documentation
Establishing new solution testing schedules, writing test scripts and performing / coordinating testing
Educate and influence the business users in understanding the importance and capability of systems, data management and business process. Provide training and documentation where required.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

  • Request for Information (RFI) / Request for Proposal (RFP) / Invitation to Tender (ITT) – where applicable

Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience

  • Excellent communication and coordinating skills
  • No minimum qualifications are required, although formal qualifications would be an advantage

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience of retail, supply chain or similar activities
  • Office productivity skills
  • Use of standard office productivity tools are desirable, MS office, excel etc.
