Electronics Hardware Engineer

Our North Devon client wishes to recruit an Electronics Hardware Engineer to undertake electronic design activity at system and PCB level relating to the generation of a new range of high-precision, leading edge products for use in industrial and aerospace applications.


The successful candidate will be qualified to HND/Degree level in Electronic Engineering and be able to demonstrate extensive experience in operating in a similar design position at an appropriate level with key skills in a selection of the following:

Analogue circuit design

Digital circuit design

DSP systems design

FPGA/VHDL design

EMC design

Schematic design

ECAD and PCB design


The Electronics Hardware Design Engineer shall be expected to work as a member of a multi-discipline product development team to ensure that design solutions meet all system requirements and that they are verified to the complete satisfaction of the customer.


The candidate should be able to generate design solutions that are suitable for embodiment within the target operating environment, taking into consideration the implementations for appropriate EMC, Environmental and regulatory compliance.


Key skills


The following key skills are necessary for fulfilment of the role:

An excellent understanding of digital and analogue measurement systems and technologies

Proven experience in electronic circuit design for the complete development lifecycle, from concept through detail design and onto verification

Experience in PCB schematic design and layout activities using ECAD design tools

Line management

Project management

Excellent organisational skills to concurrently progress multiple projects

Ability to work independently using initiative to solve technical problems
