Our client is one of the UK's leading retailers.

The main purpose of the role as Engineer is to ensure that all plant and equipment on site is available and ready to meet manufacturing plans at all times and to work with non-engineering colleagues to initiate improvements to the engineering service provided on site.

As an Engineer you will provide accurate reports and feedback from issues raised from PPM schedules, ensuring all engineering procedures are completed in a timely manner. You will monitor reliability and machine availability and propose or initiate solutions to problems and seek to continually improve performance, responding quickly and effectively to breakdowns or other engineering problems ensuring that downtime and disruption kept to a minimum.

Your role will involve communicating verbally and in writing with managers and colleagues to ensure that relevant information is passed on, issues are highlighted and agreements reached.

You will also be required to collaborate with cross site teams, ensure production and service related issues are reported to the shift manager within ten minutes, strive to complete all Planned Maintenance schedules with emphasise on quality and be flexible in your approach to shift cover to meet the needs of the business.

•Good understanding of cleaning practices and disposal


•Food Hygiene Certificate (Min level 2)


•Time served Multi-skilled Engineer, preferred electrical biased.


•Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, weld, electrical control systems and PLC’s.


•Broad knowledge of the food industry and the relevant procedures and/or regulations toensure food safety and safe working
