Ground Handling Operative - Team Manager

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £23,689 + bonus = £28,144

We are actively seeking interest from candidates who would be interested in joining our clients BHX operation within their busy Cargo department.

Experience:

The applicants should have experience of working in a fast moving challenging cargo environment, with experience of providing the highest level of customer service, whilst working under pressure to meet operational deadlines.

The applicants should be able to maintain a safe and secure working environment.

Key Tasks: 

To ensure the daily running of the facility, whilst maintaining high levels of customer service in conjunction with the 2IC. To support the 2IC in all areas of the business, and ensure compliance of Regulatory bodies e.g. HSE, CAA and HMR&C.

Receiving, sorting, breaking, and building cargo, and undertaking security screening to meet CAA regulations. Accurately prepare and complete associated paperwork. Other responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with customers in a polite and efficient manner
  • Creating and updating records of all consignments in the computer systems
  • Interrogating the customer systems to obtain information concerning any consignment
  • Maintaining computer database, and separating and distributing cargo documents according to airline requirements
  • Operating telephone system in a polite and efficient manner
  • Liaising with warehouse staff and drivers as appropriate
  • Responsible for checking Dangerous Goods to IATA standards / AVI checks.
  • Fulfilling employee commitment to dnata’s Vision Mission and Values
  • Assist HMRC and regulatory bodies e.g. CAA, Police, HSE etc.

Hours of Work:
42 hours per week to include earlies, lates, nights, and weekends
