Defence Business Services (DBS) was formed in 2011, by combining the MOD`s Civilian HR, Finance, Vetting and Knowledge & Information organisations, along with management, administration and back-office support functions, including IS. In addition, DASA (Defence Analytical Services) and the SPVA (Military HR) are expected to come into DBS in early 2012 and 2013 respectively. DBS is now starting a major transformation process to create a more efficient and effective organisation, capable of meeting the MOD`s future needs.
To support this transformation programme, an opportunity exists for either an intern mid qualification to join the team to increase knowledge. Alternatively a newly qualified CIPD professional, to gain some invaluable experience in transformation.
As the HR Operational Support advisor, your role will be advisory and support-focused, and will involve a close working relationship with your Chief People Officer (CPO) and client base.
Your duties will be varied and cover a wide spectrum of HR related responsibilities which may include:
- Assisting in conducting job evaluations exercises and advising on recruitment process.
- Supporting the CPO with coordinating projects and activities relating to the people strategy
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of HR systems and practices
- To assist in preparation and capture of key actions from meetings relating to workplace relations and performance management
