Logistics Managers

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Leading and managing a team of 2 x Logistics staff and 8 to 10 x Stores staff across 9 regional depots and 3 x third party warehouses

• Define and implement the development plan to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the UK logistics operations
• To manage the quantity, quality, cost and efficiency of the storage and supply of goods to operational teams across the UK, ensuring availability matches demand
• Review, define and implement new procedures, processes and systems to monitor and continually improve service, productivity, cost base of logistics operations and stock values
• Define, implement, manage and develop warranty and RMA control procedures incl third party repair/exchange services
• Review and define management process for all suppliers: approval/audit process, cost reviews, economic order quantities, packaging, lead times, spare parts, quality control
• Review and implement transport contracts for all inter-depot transfer of goods.
• Define plan to remove 3rd party warehouses by December 2014
• Define processes to sell or dispose of slow moving obsolete stock delivering best value for the company
• Lead growth of sustainability culture across depots and suppliers

SKILLS/ QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• Graduate
• Strong ERP system experience, Sage an advantage
• Inventory management experience across multiple locations
• Experience of managing stock value + £10million
• Experience of dealing with large items of stock

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Ideally a graduate with middle-senior management experience
Strong project management experience including the implementation of new logistics processes and productivity experience across multiple warehouses
Impressive communication, IT and analytical abilities
Commercially astute with strong financial experience
Collaborative style
Excellent people manager, able to delegate work across a team

• HOURS OF WORK

Standard hours of work: 37.5 per week, however a degree of flexibility is required due to the nature of the position eg deadlines, busy periods etc.
