Machines are built under the guidance of ‘The Technical Director’ and ‘The Works Supervisor’ from drawings issued by design office.
The Fitters job is to conform to the drawings and instructions to assemble and test the machines and sometimes to develop subassemblies for the machines.
An aptitude for working machines and good engineering practice is required as well as a keenness to understand the design features of the machines. A familiarity with PLC controls, solenoid valve banks, pneumatics, servomotors and sensors is also required.
Occasionally installation and/or service visits, to customers, on machines you have built will also be required.
The ability to use a mill and/or a lathe is desirable as also is the ability to braze.
Typical 40-hour week with some flexibility of hours and overtime is paid when require and a salary in the region of £20,000 - £22,000.
Holiday entitlement is 31 days a year including all bank holidays pro rata for the first 12 months.
