Description

Brief: 

Leveraging deep technical services experience as well as in-depth knowledge of market demands, the Principal Consultant (PC), supports the definition of the Clients Services offerings and partners with sales, delivery and clients to drive delivery procedures and support the clients ability to achieve booking and revenue targets.
The PC is recognised as a thought leader and mentor to the customer as well as the Clients Team. The PC is responsible for the high quality delivery of Consultancy to deliver proposals and statements of work on behalf of the client to the customer and works with the Sales and Delivery teams to ensure commercial and technical governance within the sales process while meeting client objectives and goals.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Creation of document agreements and Statement of Works. Able to manage client relationships and build consensus and trust in Clients delivery. Coach others on client agenda and customer ownership.
  • Support multiple engagements with multiple customers and lines of business.
  • Present Client consultancy and managed service proposition to customers demonstrating experience and understanding
  • Support proposition development through technical and commercial content
  • Provide subject matter expertise; with customer projects and technical mentoring with the delivery team
  • Support sales related financial goals.
  • Ensure proposals and statements of work follow internal governance to ensure operations acceptance for delivery
  • Articulate the value of the clients services to solve customer problems. 
  • Consulting Craft: Demonstrate proficiency within areas of subject matter expertise, written/verbal communication, presentation, facilitation, interviewing, and delivery. Serve effectively in 
  • Identify efficiencies and anticipate/resolve potential problems within solutions, working with internal delivery and the customer. Design, perform and oversee key areas of analysis and technical decision-making. Guide overall technical/functional approach.
  • Provide leadership and support to Project Managers, Engagement Partners and project teams to ensure quality delivery and customer satisfaction. Serves as a role model for others to follow. Able to take and deliver against expectations of lead project roles. Leads/drives efforts to mentor or train others.


Person Specification: 

  • Proven delivery skills.
  • Strong design capabilities (medium to large engagements) – Understanding of Technical Design Authority as well as project governance and managed service (ITIL) methodologies
  • Ownership of presales engagement
  • Strong understanding of markets, opportunities and competitors, as well as business issues and challenges.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – ability to deliver effective and persuasive presentations to client customers and employees.
  • Excellent consulting and interpersonal skills; proven ability to influence and gain consensus.
  • Structured problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Collaborative working style encompassing all delivery disciplines.
  • Able to lead real and virtual teams to reach one common end goal.
  • Provide technical mentoring.

 

General Skills/Knowledge: 

  • Experienced professional services/technical consultant to deliver pre-sales engagement.
  • Proven experience as a successful presales consultant with customer relationship management, technical pre-/post-sales experience, managed service design and delivery, and exposure to people management.
  • Detailed knowledge of the infrastructure industry and associated emerging trends.
  • Knowledge of the different client propositions, services and offerings.
  • Demonstrated technical design and implementation of infrastructure solutions.
  • Demonstrate Service Design and Project Governance skills and experience
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Project facilitation ensuring delivery of services set up in line with customer’s needs.
  • Demonstrable ability to work as a consultant to CIO/IT Director level.
  • Manage workshop environments, taking ownership and leading all aspects of workshop facilitation.
  • Interface with Project Managers within clients and the client’s IT staff to ensure effective delivery of services.
  • Demonstrable ability to provide robust and clear feedback to customers.

Technical Expertise/Qualifications & Accreditations: 

  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent.
  • ITIL Accreditation
  • Prince 2 or similar
  • Platform and Virtualisation technology expertise and experience
  • Experience in LAN, Storage and Backup would be beneficial
