Project Professional - Grade C1 & C2 - Defence Equipment & Support

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 + excellent benefits
Location: Abbey Wood

Bring your skills to a highly diverse portfolio of projects that will ultimately strengthen national and international peace and security. You will lead and support initiatives at the cutting edge of technology and scientific developments.

Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) is a bespoke trading entity, and an arm’s length body of the Ministry of Defence. The Ministry has by far the largest spend and most diverse acquisition activity in the UK government - as big as anything in the private sector. The role of DE&S is to equip and support the nation’s Armed Forces for operations now and in the future, at home and abroad.

As a Project Professional within DE&S, you will be integral to ensuring the UK’s Armed Forces maintain military operational capability and world-class standards. From day to day, your role will be characterised by variety - and by the critical impact of the way you manage knowledge and resources. Your programmes and projects will range from fast-paced, short-term operational communications services, to large-scale, hugely complex, multi-year endeavours.

Whether you are working alongside or leading dedicated colleagues, your success will depend on excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. You will work closely with industrial partners at the forefront of their fields, and sometimes with international counterparts.

To join us, you will need proven experience in a project environment or discipline. Ideally, you will have both a degree and APMP qualification.

Highly adaptable in the face of change, and comfortable working in fast-paced environments, you are equally at home as team member and leader. A skilled problem solver, you will bring to the role enthusiasm for our mission and willingness to expand your horizons.

In return for handling the most challenging activities in the procurement and support of military capability, you will enjoy excellent training opportunities and unrivalled scope for progression. You will also have the advantage of Civil Service benefits, including pension and flexible working.

Please note, your appointment in this role will be subject to successful security clearance.
