In this role reporting into the Director of IT Delivery, you’ll take the lead in ensuring the most efficient system solutions are in place for your stakeholder groups.

Our client is looking for someone with solid Technical expertise who has worked on applications such as Siebel, Hyperion, Oracle Business Intelligence (amongst others) to manage internal and external teams of solution delivery.

You’ll have a good understanding of commercial strategy covering associated business and technology architecture principles, key business processes and emerging trends. You’ll need a proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels within a complex organisation, and a track record in leading change across architecting and technical delivery disciplines.

Ideal candidates will be ambitious and personable in their approach, commercially savvy with gravitas and a consultative approach – as well as being sufficiently adaptable to navigate their way through building relationships with a range of stakeholders across multiple commercial disciplines.

About the Role:

The purpose of the role is to work with the Commercial functions analysing requirements and working on the delivery of solutions which support the business and functional strategy (Sales & Marketing) using cost effective technology and resource models.

The role holder will work with key stakeholders through the project delivery process to ensure technical solutions are delivered that meet requirements and are embedded into the Commercial functions as usual operation.

The role will be part of the Commercial team in the IT Solution Design and Delivery department.

Key Responsibilities:


·Has confidence and credibility within the business to be seen as a Subject Matter Expert within Commercial solutions.

·Builds and maintains networks within the Commercial function to promote the existing and future IT solutions.

·Inspires other consultants to deliver quality solution at pace

·Takes ownership – to deliver to deadlines and for the resolution of issues.

. Enabling delivery

·Facilitate requirement gathering workshops to define business functional requirements.

·Makes suggestions on areas for process improvements within Commercial.

·Working in virtual teams across business functions, IT and 3rd party suppliers.

·Involvement in the project delivery process, ensuring any new solutions meet our business requirements and IT standards.

·Create and review documentation including specifications, testing approach and creation of end user documentation to support delivered IT solutions in a timely manner.

·Assist the unit test of solutions & provide support and expertise through Systems Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Test (UAT).

·Use knowledge and insights to proactively seek innovative ideas/products to support project success.

·Evaluate and deliver requests from the business for improvements to existing Commercial functionality to drive efficiency and value.

·Actively participate in training and knowledge transfer sessions for new IT solutions.

Knowledge Management

·To build knowledge of existing solutions and processes for consideration in new designs.

·Owns the creation of requirements document for assigned Commercial projects.

Actively builds knowledge of industry good practice to identify opportunities to drive future business value.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

Experienced consultant with technical understanding of commercial systems and processes. Key experience in developing Customer Relationship Management, Trade Promotion Management and Business Intelligence solutions & technology platforms (preferably in SAP & Oracle).

Has good understanding of commercial strategy preferably in the Consumer Goods industry covering associated business and technology architecture principles, key business processes and emerging trends.

Experience in analysis of business functional requirements within Commercial.

Experienced in working in teams to deliver solutions (from requirements management through to delivery.)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to manage a variety of stakeholders within the business and IT.

Able to proactively plan and prioritise workload.

Experience of working with 3rd party vendors to deliver packages of development.

Ability to coach others in best practice when using IT solutions.


Degree level / working towards or equivalent in IT related subject – Essential
