Description

We are looking for a high calibre candidate to join a prestigious Law Firm.  you will have actively work on the WAN RPF project that is well underway from an operational infrastructure element and able to fully support the hiring manager and filter some of the requirements.You are to proficient and experienced in WAN and optimisation (e.g. Riverbed). These are mandatory Technical Skills required for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day to day operation and support of the networking infrastructure and troubleshooting issues to the London campus networks, including LAN, DMZ, Global WAN/Riverbeds, WLAN within a Cisco environment and F5 load balancing infrastructure.
  • Monitoring & Reporting - Network monitoring, response to alarms and alerts and production of management and statistical metric reports.
  • Change Management - Response to network change requests for project related or task work based on the internal change management processes.
  • Network Management - Usage of tolls to aid in support, monitoring and management of the network including Solarwinds, EOTS, Net Flow, Packet Capture (e.g. Wireshark), Riverbed Steelheads.
  • Planning for capacity increases and operational monitoring of the environment:
  • Problem avoidance which is key, rather than problem resolution.
  • Incident management for networking issues.
  • Support to Operations Bridge and Offshore Network Teams.
  • Following change management processes.
  • Liasing with regional offices.
  • Documentation of network infrastructure and changes.

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience of WAN/LAN/Optimisation.
  • Demonstration of deep knowledge of Cisco technologies and best practices.  Considerable first hand experience of providing IT support/service in a pressurized environment, ideally within law or investment banking and have developed and enhanced processes.
  • Excellent Technical Knowledge in the WAN/LAN Optimistion area, to include:
  • Experience to CCNP/CCNA level.
  • Specific, hands-on, demonstrable expertise in implementing, managing and troubleshooting Cisco networking technologies.
  • Experience of implementing and managing ENTERPRISE CLASS Cisco networks.
  • Some management systems knowledge of Windows OS, Linux/Unix would be an advantage.
  • Scripting Knowledge (e.g. peal, VB)

You will show excellent  communication and influencing skills are essential in order to function effectively in a matrix-managed environment and liaise effectively with global colleagues and team members at all levels.  Able to identify tasks and manage them effectively ensuring that all processes have been followed under pressure and working to tight deadlines.
